DeMarr Langford made it official on Saturday afternoon while surrounded by his immediate family –and a future teammate- at his home in Worcester. The 6’5” wing committed to Boston College, where he will join his brother, Makai Ashton-Langford, who transferred to BC just a few months ago after two years at Providence College.

“I’d like to thank my family for the love and motivation they give me every day,” said Langford, prior to donning a BC Eagles hat. “I’d also like to thank all of the coaches for the effort they put into recruiting me. This was a tough decision but I know I made the best decision for me to pursue my dreams.”

Langford, who averaged 9.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists on the Adidas circuit this summer, also joins Mass Rivals teammate Justin Vander Baan who committed to the Eagles earlier this fall. Langford ultimately chose to remain close to home at Boston College over NC State and Texas A&M.

After winning a National Prep Championship with Putnam Science Academy in 2018, Langford will spend his final prep season at Brewster where he’ll look to add a 3rd title to the family’s trophy case. Ashton-Langford won his own championship in 2017 as a member of Brewster’s undefeated 37-0 squad. He’ll spend the ’19-’20 as a redshirt in the BC program and be eligible to join the Eagles active roster when DeMarr heads to campus next fall.
